Cookie Cutter Living

Life is an incredible dance of physical and emotional opportunities to think, feel and realize your optimal potential through any and every means available.

We are more than our physical bodies in this physical world but the reality of everyday living puts us directly in contact with all things dense and material. We must navigate the density of living on Earth having to make a living, be in relationship to each other and Nature while seeking a higher meaning to all the challenges and joys this life brings. This makes for an interesting path on our journey home to our hearts.

In this world, we can be convinced, manipulated, coerced and drawn into believing that our worth depends on so many things outside of ourselves. We are told through the advertising world, society and many media outlets, that we would be more loveable, beautiful and worthy if only we bought and owned ‘xyz’ or masked our imperfections with some product, item or thing. We are lead to believe that we need to fit into the cookie cutter mold – to colour inside the lines and don’t make waves.

It’s a mine field of easily detonated insecurities for each of us to fall victim to believing any or all of these lines.

There is no ‘cookie cutter’ way to live life. We are all unique. We are all perfectly imperfect. We have different passions and purpose to drive our life’s direction.

Our backgrounds and belief systems can create limiting thoughts and ideas about life, living and ourselves. Our upbringing builds filters that enable us to function in society – guiding and protecting us as we maneuver life but they can skew our clarity of vision. Societal expectations pile on top of the limitations we hold thus adding to our belief systems. Once we are aware of our filters, we can begin to build a more individualized experience of living for the highest good and greatest joy life can offer us.

There is no one diet that works for everyone; no exercise regimen that elicits the same benefit for everyone; no drug or pill that can fix the same ailment in two different people in the same way; and no rehabilitation or therapeutic remedy that works the same for everyone. We are all different. We need to understand and accept this fact so that we can take responsibility for our health, our healing, our relationships and our lives. We need to know that it is imperative to question everything, to research independently and follow the heartfelt instincts you have.

There will always be ups and downs, laughter and tears. That is part of life. You can’t avoid the fullness of feeling deeply if you expect to create lasting, empowering changes in your life.

Let go of the need to fit in, know that you already belong and create a life uniquely your own by understanding yourself, your needs and your passions. Be kind, loving and create boundaries that support the beauty within. This cradle will create the potential for you and your life to expand.
