Storms in Life

Storms change the landscape in life – physically, emotionally & psychologically. Storms shift trees, soil, buildings, & everything in the pathway of their intensity. In our lives, storms shift our energy, shift our focus, shift our priorities, & shift our mindsets. They are powerful!

The storms in Nature can be cleansing and/or devastating to all things in their path. Storms create chaos & destruction, and in their wake, they clear the air and energy. They leave a visual reminder of the power of Nature when all things come together for change. Storms can destroy the foundations beneath us, dissolving the bedrock upon which we have lived our lives & thus, forcing us to find more solid ground. Mother Nature is an extraordinarily beautiful – yet at times – brutal force to be reckoned with in life.

She reminds us of the need at times to destroy what is there – to level things out – to prepare the soil – to prepare us – for expansive changes or experiences yet to come.

Storms are a gateway to allow Mother Nature to ‘right herself’ and find balance. We also have ways to personally create chaos within, and destroy old ways of being in order to realign ourselves with our Truth – with the authenticity of our hearts & souls.

Personally, storms in our lives reveal our strengths and our weaknesses. They peel back the layers of life & living. They upend the methods of protection & guardedness that we have developed & use to shield ourselves from life. Once we begin to accept & allow these layers to be peeled back like an onion, the inner light & brilliance we embody can radiate more effectively into our day-to-day living.

Internal storms create uncomfortable chaotic mixes of energy, thoughts & emotions. They rise to invite us to change – to shift something – to broaden our perspective – to dig deeper to heal - & to release what no longer serves us.

The nudge or full-out push from within – can & will bring up so much divisive turmoil, angst, & confusing work for us that it can be like a volcanic eruption or full-out hurricane within us. This shove will churn up old memories, beliefs, & self-defeating thoughts, etc. These swirling uncontrollable reactive parts of us affect our day-to-day living. This is the opportunity to revisit – to realign – to awaken the truth and allow these parts of you to float away on the tidal surge.

Riding the waves can be threatening to our known ways of being, especially as a rogue tsunami hits us broadside unexpectedly. These storms need attention & a willingness to do the work necessary to calm the storm within. This is usually not a quick fix

There is no formula for quelling the storm quickly. The raging flames can engulf us, and the rolling waves can seethe beneath the surface – as we pretend everything is fine - & we must find ways & create openings for our focused intentions to heal those eruptions.

After a summer’s thunderstorm, do you notice the air is clearer? Perhaps you notice the humidity is lower? Do you notice the subtle shifts around you in nature? After the thunder, the lightning, and the rain, we often see the beauty of the rainbows.

As devastating as the internal storms are, they often enlighten us, educate us, open us, and reveal to us the areas in life, in our lives & in our bodies that need attention – that need our love, empathy, understanding and awareness.

Use the storm's intensity to build a resiliency, to build a desire to heal anything & everything you can with the energy & awareness you have, to help you become more consciously awake to the beauty & possibilities you were born.; This work isn’t easy & yet without it, we can’t reach the peaks of our potential.

Lean in. Listen. Learn. Let go. Repeat.

The storms arrive with a promise of change. Some of the changes you can choose, and some you cannot. You must adapt & find ways to weather the storms so that you can use them to shift & heal, re-align for your highest good & greatest joy.

Saddle up – the storm is here!
